Dr. Elizabeth Smith
DVM

Dr. Elizabeth Smith was born and raised here in Ripley, MS. She attended Mississippi State University where she graduated with her Bachelor’s Degree in Animal and Dairy Science and a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. In 2014, Dr. Elizabeth Smith fulfilled a lifelong dream to own a veterinary clinic after her and her husband, Stephen Smith, purchased the Animal Clinic of Tippah County. Interestingly enough, the building where the clinic is currently located was originally owned and built by her grandparents. At that time (about 25 years ago) it was a boot store called “The Company Store”.  Dr. Smith spent her childhood at the boot store with her grandparents and twin sister Sarah. You can still see the original store sign displayed on the wall in the clinic lobby.

The clinic has undergone a few changes since the days of the boot store, including the addition of several clinic animals that you can meet while you are here. We have 4 clinic cats, several fish, a turtle, and a ferret that you will often see wandering the halls or keeping you company in the lobby. Dr. Smith now lives with her husband Stephen, her three boys Gus, Leo, and Sam and their small herd of dogs (Dan, Marie, Andie, Will, and Carlton), and her two Tennessee Walking horses (Little Moon and General). Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Smith enjoys maintaining her large garden, cooking, baking, and cake decorating.
